D2Dance places a lot of importance on Experience when developing performance skills. Therefore we aim to give our students as many opportunities to perform as possible, D2D is somewhere students can come to have fun whilst they learn new skills but it is also a platform for students who wish to go on to train at Vocational Colleges and work in the Performing Industry.

Date for the diaries

It’s Show Time again!!

For our next show we are going to try a new venue, The EM Forster Theatre at Tonbridge School. I have worked at this theatre before and it is a great base for dance shows. The date is yet to be confirmed however pencil Saturday 19th March and Sunday 20th March 2016 in your diaries. We will also have a different set up this year with the Saturday for rehearsals and a dress run and the Sunday for TWO performances!! I hope to be able to include all D2dance students in these shows, from Hilden Grange, Fosse Bank , Copthorne Prep, East Grinstead, Hildenborough and Eynsford so I think two shows is a must, more information will follow shortly.

Please put these dates in your diaries now and don’t book any Easter holidays for before that date, again I would love to see as many of my students as possible up on the stage performing to a massive audience of friends and family!!

D2dance Debut Show

shows2In 2012 we held our first school show at a theatre, it was great to see the students faces light up as they walked in to The Stag Theatre. All of the students worked extremely hard in rehearsals and showed true professionalism throughout the day from sitting still whilst having their Hair and Make up done to Smiling the whole time they were on stage. The show was a huge success and we had amazing feedback. “It was a very proud day for me as a principal.”

We also took part in Chance To Dance 2012 also held at The Stag Theatre in Sevenoaks. It gave students the chance to perform in front of a diverse audience and show their talent to members of the public. Very successful and very exciting!!

Christmas Showcase

In 2010 we held a Christmas Showcase, this allowed students to invite friends and family to come and see the results of their hardwork and also was a chance for them to perform in front of an audience. The teachers put together dances for each class which we’re built up of their different syllabus exercises for exam classes and free amalgamations for classes such as street and Musical Theatre. It also gave those who have Singing Lessons the opportunity to perform a song which they had been working on for the term, this for some of our younger students took a lot of courage as for them this was the first time standing in front of an audience.
